An interdisciplinary look at the biomineralization and material science unique to marine invertebrates. The synthesis and use of nanobiomaterials of marine origin will be described, together with their use in biomedical applications. These novel materials are awaited for their exploitation in electronics, catalysis, sensors and pharmaceutical industries. Participation in the workshop is extended to all researchers and experts in the fields of cellular and molecular biology, material sciences, biotechnology and biomedicine.
